What it's for
Building soil before planting — vegetable beds, field crops, and ground being brought back into use. Not a top dressing: it works over a season, not a week.
When to apply
Worked into the bed before sowing or transplanting.
Handling and storage

About Sanwa products
Why growers choose it
- 01
Organic matter that holds water and opens heavy Chiba soil.
- 02
Fully matured, so it is bagged without the ammonia smell of raw manure.
- 03
Every lot is laboratory-tested and traceable by the number on the bag.
How to use Sanwa Fertilizer
Using it is three steps
Simple application. Consistent results.
01Prepare the bed
Before planting, clear weeds and loosen the soil so it can take the compost.
02Work it in
Mix it through the top 15–20cm. Left on the surface it works far more slowly.
03Water, then let it rest
Water after spreading and leave it a while before sowing or transplanting.

Questions growers ask
Will it bring flies or insects?
It is fully matured, so it does not attract insects the way raw manure does. Keep the bag closed and out of the rain once opened.
I have heard unfinished compost can damage roots. Is this safe?
What damages roots is compost that has not finished fermenting. This is matured before bagging. If you would rather be careful, work it in and leave it a few days before planting.
Can I use it in pots and planters?
Yes — mix a little into your potting soil. It is a soil improver, not a growing medium on its own.
Will the smell bother my neighbours?
There is no ammonia smell — it is fully matured. Expect an earthy smell for a few days after spreading, then nothing.
Piggypost or the cow manure compost?
Piggypost balances nutrients and organic matter; the cow manure is 62% organic matter and leans to soil building. Poor ground: cow manure. Feeding the crop as well: Piggypost.
Can I use it on a JAS-certified organic field?
It is formulated for use on JAS-certified land. If your certifier needs documentation, ask us and we will send it.
I cannot use a whole bag at once.
Close the bag and keep it dry — an opened bag lasts a season.
