Before you order
Questions growers ask
Does it float when I water?
Dry chips are light and can lift. Soak them before you lay them and they stay put.
How is it different from coco peat?
Coco peat is fine and holds water; the chips are coarse and make air space. Chips for potting and mulch, peat for mixes.
How thick should I lay it as a mulch?
About 2–3cm. Thicker holds more moisture, but check the water is reaching the soil underneath.
Can I use it for orchids?
Yes — it suits epiphytes that need drainage and air at the root.
Does it last longer than bark mulch?
It holds its shape where bark breaks down in a season, though how long depends on where it is used.
Will it keep the weeds down?
It shades the soil, so it helps. It is not a barrier — lay it thicker, and pull what does come through early.
